Contacting a Doctor’s office can be tricky, here are some tips and tricks to get you in contact with the right person in the appropriate amount of time.

• Call our Triage Nurse (press 2 from phone menu):

Your child is feeling unwell, and may need an appointment today.

You would like to speak to a nurse, or are in need of clinical results/information or advice for your child.

Please note: Every call is important to us, answered in order of receipt. Therefore, wait times are to be anticipated.

• Call our Medical Secretary (press 3 from phone menu):

To schedule a routine physical, vaccination only visit, medical check or follow-up appointment.

To request a form.

To request a referral to a specialist. Please include the specialists name, phone number, and reason for the referral.

Please note: If you leave a voicemail message, allow 2 business days for a callback. Please do not leave messages regarding clinical advice. This line is for ROUTINE appointment scheduling only.

• Call our Medication Refill line (press 4 from the phone menu):

Please leave a detailed message with your child’s name, DOB, medication to refill, and preferred pharmacy, allow 2 business days for medication refills.

BY PATIENT PORTAL

• Send a Portal message via the Patient Portal if:

Your child is ≤ 11 years old.

You are sending nonurgent communication and requests primarily involving reviewing lab results, prescription refills, appointment requests, and staff messages, response time is within 72 hours.

BY TEXT

• Text messaging 401-847-2290 utilizing HIPAA Secure OhMD chat if:

You are here to have your child seen during our Quick Sick hour M-F between 8-9 am. Text upon arrival. Please include child’s name, date of birth, and symptoms.

You need nonurgent advice from a nurse which does not require an immediate response or a call back. Our nurses strive to respond to texted clinical questions and/or same day sick appointment requests within 1-2 hours.

You would like to schedule a routine appointment. Appointment cancellations or rescheduling / scheduling texts will be responded to within 24 hrs.

OhMD is not regularly monitored after 4:30 pm M - F or on weekends/holidays.
